Powers an oasis in the City of Chicago, wildlife, fish and fun. One of the best kept secrets for its fishing of, Large & Small mouth Bass, Crappie, Walleye, and Northern Pike within the Chicago Area. During any time of the year, wildlife viewing opportunities are everywhere. Opened in 1947, the 624-acre park is managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
drivingDirection Park is located off of I-94 Exit 130th St. East to Torrence Avenue turn North to 126th Street turn East Straight into William W. Powers Conservation Area. Also off of Chicago/Indiana Toll Road I-90 to 106th Street West to Avenue O South to 126th Street.

importantInformation Camping fees are refundable if cancellation notification is received no later than 3 days prior to arrival. Shelter Reservations are non-refundable unless the area is closed by the Department, in this circumstance the Site Manager will contact you prior to your reservation date to cancel and issue your refund. Park opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m.Our Park hours will changes as of May 25, 2015. The Park will open at 7a.m. and Close at 7p.m. May 25, 2015 through September 7, 2015. On September 8, 2015 we go back to 7a.m to 5p.m.The park closes on New Years Day and Christmas Day. There is no camping in the park. Alcoholic Beverages, Possession, Consumption, Influence: It is POHIBITED and unlawful for any person to possess or consume intoxicating beverages, including beer or wine in the park year round. A responsible adult (18 years of age or older) from the camping party must register for the party and thereby acknowledge compliance with the rules and regulations of the park for the party. At least one responsible adult must accompany each group of 15 minors. Pets must be kept on leashes at all times. There are 3 boat launches in the park for your convenience, there is no launching fee. Boat motors of any size are allowed (motors larger than 10HP must operate at no-wake). Swimming is not permitted anywhere in the park Parking is permitted in paved parking areas or designated areas. No Parking On the Grass. The use of generators, sound amplification systems, electronic or electrical speakers, canopy/tens, portable toilets, ice cream trucks, dunk tanks, Moonwalks, Jumping Jacks, kiddy rides, DJ's are PROHIBITED in the park. Groups of 25 or more are required to register in advance with the park office.
